Kaleidoscope

The latest Westwell Players spectacular performance of...

April, along with our Spring show, swept past in a whirlwind of excitement, panic and happy memories.
The hall decorations have been taken down, the kitchen is closed and Stuart has returned to the sanctuary of The Wheel, after cooking up his fantastic feast.
David Harvey is resting at home following his monumental success as compere/standup comedian and is now awaiting an audition date for Britain's Got Talent, while Hans, Knees, Boomps and Daisy are hoping to get into the Group section of The X Factor.
The rest of the cast of Kaleidoscope is winding down after the marathon task of learning 18 new songs, an achievement eventually attained by most (although it appears that the deeper the voice the weaker the memory retention!).
The success of our tuneful interlude was due to the patience and dedication of our musical directors, John Hurrell, who worked his fingers to the bone on the piano, and Neil Cackett, who, against all the odds, valiantly persevered as our vocal coach.  We were also thrilled that Neil made a welcome and long awaited return to the stage in the chorus and as Pilot Officer Smythe in one of the short plays.
Producers Mary Anne Pitt, Alyson Greaves and Heather Absolom should receive the greatest acclaim for choosing the programme and gently coaxing us into shape.   Alyson also orchestrated the colourful hall decor, which provided the fairy-tale setting for the evening.  Heather, together with Kip Pitt again using their amazing artistic bent, produced the marvellous scenery and props.  Kip's fire-spitting Spitfire will be remembered for a long time!
Once again, we would like to thank our supporters for entering into the spirit of the Limerick competition and for the generous appreciation of the food and entertainment.
Just a reminder to members that the AGM takes place on 2nd June at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall, when we hope to announce the title of our November Show.
