Places to eat and drink

The Wheel Inn, with its leafy beer garden, can be found in the centre of the village, a short detour from the Pilgrims Way hiking trail. It has a large garden, and serves hot food.

The Hare and Hounds Pub, is  a beautiful 18th Century, semi-rural, family run pub conveniently situated on the A20 at Potters Corner.offering  a friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere and an extensive menu of home cooked food. . Children are also welcome in the restaurant area. 

The Woolpack Kent is a Beefeater Grill restaurant in a historic building that has been a licensed pub for over 250 years!  Situated on the A20, Maidstone Road, midway between Ashford and Charing, the Woolpack also offers accommodation in its  Premier Inn hotel.

There is also a super cafe at the gliding club, a short (and picturesque) walk north of the the Pilgrims Way track, which is open on certain days

Places to stay

There is a camping site located at Dunn Street Farm on the Pilgrims Way, a short walk from the village, with beautiful views over the countryside.

The Premier Inn,adjoining the Woolpack Kent on the A20 between Ashford and Charing offers  family accomodation where under 16's get a free breakfast every day!

Eastwell Manor, just to the east of the parish, provides luxury hotel accommodation in parkland grounds, and there are many other accommodation options at all levels in nearby Ashford.

Public transport and Wealden Wheels

There are regular bus services running along the A20 east into Ashford and west to Charing and beyond, including at Potters Corner, the end of Watery Lane and Tutt Hill. There are currently no routes serving other parts of the parish.

However, the Wealden Wheels is a not for profit Community Transport company providing flexible and affordable transport to groups and organisations in rural villages around Ashford in Kent, where transport options are restricted. It is based in Pluckley and has been operating a small fleet of minibuses (two of which are adapted to carry disabled passengers), since April 2004. For a modest annual membership fee local groups, clubs, schools, other organisations and families can hire their minibuses, either on a self-drive basis or with one of their volunteer drivers. www.wealdenwheels.co.uk

The nearest mainline train station serving routes to London and the coast is a few miles away in the village of Charing. In nearby Ashford there is a high speed rail service to London St Pancras (38 mins) and direct services to the continent via Eurostar.
